Ozone Therapy

Ozone Dentistry/ Oxygen Dental Therapy

We are really excited to now be offering this cutting edge all-natural treatment.

Using Ozone gas and Ozonated water in dentistry

Ozone gas is used to fumigate and disinfect periodontal pockets (gum disease); decrease sensitive exposed roots; disinfect root canal systems after they are cleaned out; disinfect diseased tooth sockets; decrease cavity sensitivity and decrease drilling when preparing areas of decay.

Ozonated water is used to irrigate infected periodontal pockets (gum disease), sterilize infected extraction sockets (infected teeth) and sterilize dental equipment and water lines for a safer dental experience.

What is Ozone?

Ozone is made from taking pure oxygen and subjecting it to a small electrical charge; we smell it after lightning strikes. Ozone is also found naturally in the human body.

How does Ozone help dental healing?

Ozone gas or ozonated water is an excellent natural disinfectant. Ozone is a non-toxic, non-allergenic extremely biocompatible way of cleaning and promoting healing. Using oxygen and water (ozone) we can support the body's healing process. Ozone has minimal to no side effects since it is basically oxygen.

Ozone activates red blood cells to improve oxygen release; destroys bacterial cell walls, destroys fungi and viruses; activates enzymatic anti-oxidants and scavengers in our own cells; modulates our immune system; increases the anti-inflammatory effect and increases good nitric oxide circulating in our circulatory system. Ozone is naturally drawn to an infection due to its negative charge and infection's positive charge.

Ozonated olive oil

Ozonated olive oil can also be used topically to decrease microbial counts. Following treatment, we will give you some take-home ozone therapy for gum disease
